The power of three: Uniting the Toronto Arts Council brand

ecentricarts is a pleasure to work with, and we are delighted with the results of our redesign. Their team was able to navigate successfully some pretty complex website coding and mapping requirements. We highly recommend them. – Susan Wright, Deputy Director, Toronto Arts Council

Toronto Arts Council is the city’s funding body for artists and arts organizations, with a web presence that spans three sites: Toronto Arts Council, Toronto Arts Foundation, and Neighbourhood Arts Network. While united under one organization, the three sites offered an inconsistent experience that made it difficult to navigate. Furthermore, maintaining content across three sites was tricky and time consuming.

We were engaged to redesign the three sites — powered by an easy-to-update CMS — with an eye toward preserving each property’s personality and functionality.

We got started by performing a full UX and design audit, highlighting opportunities for TAC to surface important information and better serve their users. After gaining a full understanding of each site’s audience and purpose, we designed three experiences that would clearly guide users to the functionality they needed. All three share common elements and subtle branding, while remaining true to the personality of each arm of the organization.

We brought the designs to life with fully responsive templates built with Kentico, which would allow TAC employees to easily and quickly update their content.
