Welcome to the New ecentricarts Blog!
Greetings friends, colleagues, and those who just happened to be passing by. We hope you will soon find something of interest here. Our plan is to make this blog a compendium of our collective wisdom as a leading web design and development studio. We will also showcase our clients and the many interesting things that they get up to. We will also occasionally muse on things non-web, like what is currently on display in our in house curio cabinet.
More than the Sum of our Staff
We have invited our staff to contribute to our blog, so over time you‘ll be able to read posts by some of the different personalities that make up our studio – the designers, developers, and project managers that make things happen. They certainly are a most interesting, intelligent group of people who typically have a lot to say, so we’re going to try and redirect some of that intelligence out into the blogosphere.
The Re-birth of ecentricarts.com
We’re thrilled to finally have our new site launched. Like most things web, this new site was very much a team effort. My hat goes off to the many talented people who worked on it and contributed to its launch. I’m a firm believer in the power of small teams and this site is a great example.
Built on Kentico CMS
On the technology front, I’d like to mention that this site is built on the Kentico CMS for .NET platform. In our opinion, Kentico is far and away the best mid-enterprise CMS platform on the market. It’s highly flexible and beloved by both developers as well as content editors. If you are in the market for a CMS solution, I highly recommend you give Kentico serious consideration. (If you browse over to our Portfolio section, we’ve added a Kentico filter so you can see easily see all the sites we’ve built on that platform).
Adaptive Layout
This site has been mobile optimized through a technique called adaptive layout or liquid design. This approach allows you to create a single site that will dynamically adapt itself based on the width of the device that is accessing it. If you are currently viewing this site on a computer monitor and want to see how it works, grab the corner of your browser and make your browser skinnier. Once you get to the width of a mobile device the page will dynamically realign itself to fit the narrower window. Pretty cool eh?
