2000: The Genesis

2000.jpgDurrant and Blondeau sit in an empty office, waiting for the phone to ring. It does and it's family checking to see how things are going. Sometimes they ride their bikes or roller skate around.

The rest is history...

We love art. And business. And technology. And design.

We opened our doors February 22, 2000 at 20:22 PM. Since then we’ve created many superlative digital solutions for a variety of clients, be they governments, cultural organizations, not for profits, associations and businesses - small/medium/large or XL. While the work itself has been mainly digital and internet-based, we've been known to think outside the pixel network. Cumulatively, we have serviced over 250 clients on 800 different projects, the users of which number in the hundreds of millions…

ecentricarts is led by three web industry veterans: Keith Durrant, Sean Kozey and Michel Blondeau, and offers a unique blend of business, process, creative and technical experience. The diverse range of talents that we bring to a project not only ensures the end product will be implemented expertly, but that we will put forth the best solution from the outset. Our staff are a team rich with talent and experience who excel at delivering projects that engage, enrich and enlighten end users.

PREV CLOSE NEXT

Our team at ecentricarts is highly skilled and diverse.

Since 2000, we have worked with a broad range of clients and delivered on many different kinds of projects - from the very small one-off to the large, multi-year initiatives. Whether the subject be arts, culture, civil society, membership, education or corporate - at the heart of the effort are those we call ecentricartisans....

Michelle Claessens

Michelle Claessens

designer / design whisperer

Did you ever wonder what happened to that quiet girl in school that used to sit in the corner drawing? You wanted to know her, but didn’t want to bother her because she was focused on doing what she loved. Well, she went on to get a degree in Pure Mathematics and a Design diploma (with a specialization in awesomeness). She takes the abstract theoretical complexities of any project and expresses them in shapes and space. You will be glad that you didn’t bug her, because what she comes up with is pretty fantastic..

Both a designer and a frontend developer, everything that Mark works on has panache. A true ecentricartisan, you'll be drawn to the things that he creates because he hand-crafts each item with care. It's the subtleties and the details of Mark's creations that cause end users and clients to fall in love with his handiwork.

In a chaotic crowd outside the Stadio Olimpico in Rome in 2005, Cassie was struck by a random coin with a 4-leaf clover on it. This was just one event in a life-long windfall of luck that has followed Cassie around. But it isn’t just luck that brings goodness — it’s a combination of gratitude, generosity, and respect that makes good things happen. Cassie is an inspired and talented designer who wants to make a positive and meaningful impact. To be able to do this at work is a dream come true for her and for that, we are all lucky that she is here.

Mike Patten

Mike Patten

sr. ux designer / frontend developer

Mike is one of those rare individuals whose synapses fire equally rapidly on both sides of his brain, making him equally gifted in both UX design and the inner workings of Front End development. On a small scale he is solving the world’s problems with his drumsticks, hockey sticks, and fingertips, pondering life’s questions. “What is existence? What are the personas and archetypes in this concept? Why is my fancy markup being weird in IE8 in compatibility mode?"

Maria Nguyen

Maria Nguyen

project manager / mamalicious

Maria is a world traveling PM that lives true to her heart. That might mean trekking in the Great Western Desert, scuba diving with giant manta rays in the Maldives, dancing in Ibiza, cheffing up a feast for her friends. Or, as you will most likely see her, driving the team together to collaborate and action to ensure that your project is successful. She does all these things with equal enthusiasm, discipline and diligence, always trying to give more to others than she takes.

Simon Bartlett

Simon Bartlett

backend developer / rocket scientist

Once upon a time there was a paperboy named Simon in Hertfordshire. He loved cool things that could go fast and far, so as he grew older he studied physics, and creative design. He became a rocket scientist. He learned how to fly planes. He learned how to figure skate. In his spare time he taught himself how to code web applications and software. No more orbits and celestial mechanics for Simon, he builds things that move fast and far at the speed of the internet.

Noam Rinat

Noam Rinat

backend developer / .net intel

A Senior .NET Developer, his name is pronounced 'No-um and not gnome (but he will answer to Norm). As a child in Israel, Noam longed for the Commodore 64, but had to settle for a PC clone with a green screen to play his favorite game, King's Quest.  Twenty-five years later he would fulfil his life long quest to have a C-64 in a wintry land far away. The moral of this story, become the adventurer and an architect of your own journey. Think deeply and appreciate what life has to offer. Never give up on your dreams.

Kristin Michie

Kristin Michie

office manager / adagio

You might find Kristin in front of 88 keys playing Bach and Mozart in the same manner that she lives her life; with an elegant ease of touch, but never for the sake of display. You might find her curled up with a book, in a Warrior I pose, picking up her two fantastic kids, or beefing up her MA in Information Sciences with UX and IA skills. The key to Kristin is her versatility. Ask her her favourite colour... wait for a bit... then ask her again. She adjusts according to whatever light is shining on and around her — and it always shines brightly.
